After 30+ years of working as a professional car designer and living in Chicago, Detroit, Tokyo, Frankfurt (Germany) and Turin (Italy), I moved to a tiny German island in the North Sea, the home of my father and forefathers, to focus on one of my other passions: creating, producing and preforming music.

I've been playing in bands for more than 40 years. My music is blues and rock based but, since joining the best - and only - sea shanty choir on the island, I have found a new genre - Shanty Rock.

Singing in the shanty choir has inspired me to combine my blues and rock passion with the music of my seafaring forefathers to make a nine song Shanty Rock EP. It is called “Kali Maas,” the name of a ship on which my great, great, great grandfather was captain. In my own blues/rock way, with an emphasis on the typical polyphonic chorales of the genre, I spiritually capture the music and culture of the time when legendary tall ships sailed the seven seas. The songs are a mix of traditional shanties and some original creations of my own.
